I am concerned my lovebird isn't very playful?

I got my lovebird a week ago and it just doesn't seem happy I speak to gently to it all the time and have given it plenty of toys an excalent seed mix and fresh fruits and vegies. I just don't know what else to do.
A week isn't really that long. Some birds take awhile to feel comfortable in new surroundings. It sounds like you're starting off well, just give the bird more time.

Lovebirds do not HAVE to have a mate, they can be happy being alone just like any other bird. You just need to be it's companion instead.
